About me and my practice
A warm welcome to you. I'm Rachael, a BACP Registered and online qualified Relational Integrative Counsellor with 17 years experience. I offer short and long-term counselling to adults in person in Central Bath and online throughout the UK and beyond.
Working alongside you, my intention is to create a relaxed and reflective space within which you can feel safe, supported and heard.
Compassion, curiosity and mindfulness sit at the heart of my approach, so I will be interested to hear about your world, your relationships and how they have shaped you and your life.
Through our conversations, we will spend our time to uncover what is important to you. With a view to using such insights and clarity to redirect your life in a more meaningful, purposeful and authentic way.
Experience
Originally training with Cruse Bereavement Care in both the Bristol and Bath offices alongside my formal training, I qualified in 2009 and set up my private practice, Applegreen Counselling, in Central Bath in 2010.
I have since built my practice working in person with clients in Bath and also online with clients dispersed throughout the UK and Europe.
Previous experience also includes working with the University of Bath, University of Bath Spa and University of the West of England (UWE) in the roles of Specialist Mentor and Wellbeing Practitioner. As well as working as a Facilitator with BathMind.
Qualifications
I am a fully qualified Relational Integrative Counsellor who trained at the University of Wales, Newport obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative) in 2009, accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
The core aspects of this training blend together elements of Humanistic, Relational, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
In 2021, I completed a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling with Counselling Tutor who has been awarded Quality Checked training recognition by the National Counselling Society.
