You show up. You keep managing. Privately, you wonder how much longer you can keep going like this. I work with adults in their 20s, 30s and 40s who are holding it together on the outside while running low on the inside. Burnout that crept up slowly. Work stress that follows you home. Relationship patterns that repeat no matter how much you try to change them. I also work with people who have recently discovered or beginning to suspect that they may be autistic, ADHD or AuDHD.
About me and my practice
I'm Rachael, a Relational Integrative Counsellor who will work with you in a neuro-friendly and trauma-informed way, drawing on different therapeutic approaches depending on what you need. I bring a breadth of experience to every client I work with acquired from a variety of roles within Universities, EAP work, bereavement work and adult adopted clients.
My approach is inclusive and deeply relational, professional and informal. I believe therapy works best when safety is present and there is a genuine human connection. So if you're looking to feel understood in a life where on occasions you haven't, then I would love to hear from you.
Experience
Originally training with Cruse Bereavement Care in both the Bristol and Bath offices alongside my formal training, I qualified in 2009 and set up my private practice, Applegreen Counselling, in Central Bath in 2010.
I have since built my practice working in person with clients in Bath and also online with clients dispersed throughout the UK and Europe.
Previous experience also includes working with the University of Bath, University of Bath Spa and University of the West of England (UWE) in the roles of Specialist Mentor and Wellbeing Practitioner. As well as working as a Facilitator with BathMind.
Qualifications
I am a fully qualified Relational Integrative Counsellor who trained at the University of Wales, Newport obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative) in 2009, accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
In 2021, I completed a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling with Counselling Tutor who has been awarded Quality Checked training recognition by the National Counselling Society.
Additional Information
Individual counselling is offered online, telephone and in person in central Bath and is bound by privacy and confidentiality as required by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Counselling sessions can be can be short term, long term or open ended. I offer weekly, fortnightly and monthly sessions. This is is something we will discuss in the initial consultation.

Initial Consultation
Initial consultations can take between 50-60 minutes.
Paperwork will be sent to you by email prior to the session which will include the contract, a privacy statement and a client details sheet for your reference and approval. We will discuss these at the initial consultation.
We will also discuss your reasons for choosing counselling and what you'd like to be different.

Sliding scale: £70-£85 per 50 minute session
